SUSTAINABILITY

YES& has sustainability awareness at its core and drives to better its processes year on year. With this intention YES& has gone to great measures to shrink it's negative environmental impact. We invite you along for the learning with us! 
 
We are a waste free event and if you haven't delved into this yet yourself, attending the festival is a potent opportunity to play with really taking ownership of your personal environmental footprint. 
 
At YES& we practice the Leave-No-Trace philosophy so with any potential future landfill you bring with you, please work with us by taking it home. Bring your own bin which you could use as your own personal audit. Be mindful that there may be others at the festival really working to adopt this waste free practice so we ask that you be respectful of the festival principles in shared spaces by honouring the concept of waste free living and together we can see how easy it can be.

What TO KNOW

  • THIS IS A DRUG AND ALCOHOL FREE EVENT.
  • BYRON IS HINTERLAND - IT’S WET! BE PREPARED FOR RAIN OR COLD
  • EXPECT LIMITED MOBILE RECEPTION. THERE WILL BE WIFI WHICH CAN BE INTERMITTENTLY USED AS WELL AS CHARGING STATIONS.
  • ​​BRING YOUR OWN FRUIT, SNACKS, TREATS → AND TAKE YOUR RUBBISH HOME/DON’T BRING ANY PACKAGES
  • THERE ARE NO BINS, ONLY FOR COMPOSTING FOOD SCRAPS. BRING YOUR OWN GARBAGE STORAGE/BAG. USE THIS AS YOUR PERSONAL RUBBISH AUDIT.
  • ​SESSIONS WILL BE HELD UNDER OUTDOOR SHADE AND COVER.
  • TWO OPTIONS FOR ACCOMMODATION ARE 1) CAMPSITE ACCESS WITH A BYO TENT OR 2) CAMPER VAN (BYO) OCCUPYING ONE OF THE 25 PARKING SPACES. PLEASE FILL OUT THE TRANSPORT REGISTRATION FORM SO THAT WE CAN KEEP TRACK OF VEHICLE AND CAMPSITE SPACES.
  • KIDS - WE WILL HAVE A SPACE SET UP WITH A BEACH TENT, SOME TOYS & TABLE AND CHAIRS. THIS WILL NOT BE SUPERVISED, HOWEVER WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PARENTS TO UTILISE THROUGHOUT THE FESTIVAL WITH THEIR CHILDREN. PARTICIPANTS ARE WELCOME TO TAKE THEIR CHILDREN TO ALL SESSIONS, INCLUDING LECTURES, WORKSHOPS AND DISCUSSION PANELS. PLEASE NOTE, HOWEVER, THAT THE VOLUNTEER CREW DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR UNATTENDED CHILDREN.
  • ​SHOWER SET UP IS FULLY ENCLOSED HOWEVER BRING A BATHING SUIT IF YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH A SHOWER THAT IS NOT YOUR OWN/IN A PUBLIC SPACE.
  • ​THE HOUSE ON SITE IS NOT ACCESSIBLE TO ATTENDEES (EXCEPT FOR 1 X 3MIN SHOWER)

CARPOOLING | Driving or need a lift?

Whether you are driving or need a lift from the airport or nearby, please fill out the transport registration form so that we can support you supporting one another in getting there. we are making good use of the limited space their with 25 parking spots available. This is also to avoid unnecessary degradation of the land. This form will be emailed to you following registration for the festival.

GENERAL FLOW

FRIDAY | Arrive between 4-5pm to allow time for you to set up your tent before nightfall. 
THIS EVENING IS A FREE EVENING WHERE YOU WILL HAVE TIME TO UNPACK, SET UP YOUR TENT, CONNECT WITH THE LAND AND EACH OTHER. 

BYO MEAL FOR THE FRIDAY EVENING. 

THERE WILL BE A FESTIVAL BRIEFING AND MOVIE SCREENING THIS EVENING.

THE 36 HOUR FESTIVAL WILL OFFICIALLY START THE FOLLOWING MORNING AT 7AM.

THIS IS A HYBRID EVENT → MOST SESSIONS DURING THE AUSTRALIAN TIMEZONES WILL BE DELIVERED LIVE IN-PERSON BY THE SPEAKERS AND ARTISTS. WE CROSS-OVER AT 22:45 AEST TO BRAZIL, NEW MEXICO, COLUMBIA, KENYA AND THE UK. THE TIMEZONE’S RE-UNITE AT 06:15 AEST WITH A BEAUTIFUL YOGA SESSION TO FILL YOUR DAY WITH EASE AND SPACE WHEREVER YOU ARE IN THE WORLD.

THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN INTENTIONALLY CREATED AS A SINGLE STREAM OF SESSIONS. A HEALTHY FLOW OF SESSIONS HAVE BEEN INTEGRATED, WHERE POSSIBLE, TO ALLOW FOR A SPACIOUS AND REGENERATIVE FLOW BETWEEN I) MORE YANG MIND-CONCEPTUAL BASED SESSIONS AND II) MORE BODY-HEART-BREATH BASED SESSIONS. 

LIMINAL LAND | SILENCE, RE-GENERATION AND SPACIOUSNESS

A LIMINAL SILENT SPACE WILL BE SET UP AND MADE AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO PRESS PAUSE AS YOU NEED AND TAKE SOME TIME FOR YOURSELF TO ABSORB THE WISDOM BEING SHARED BY THE SPEAKERS AND ARTISTS. 

SATURDAY WE CROSS-OVER TO OUR SISTER HUB @ THE EGG OF THE UNIVERSE YOGA STUDIO 

TWO SESSIONS WILL BE STREAMED FROM HERE INCLUDING AN INTRODUCTION AND TALK BY HARRY LANCASTER AND HIMALAYAN BREATHWORK BY CHELSEA MAZZINI.

ON SUNDAY THE ENERGY WILL SWING TOWARD BODY-BREATH-SOUND BASED CONNECTION AS WE COME TO AN END (...& NEW BEGINNING) WITH A SOUND JOURNEY BY BENNY HOLLOWAY, FINISHING AT 18:30PM.

FAQ'S

HOW WILL COVID-19 IMPACT THE YES& FESTIVAL?
The YES& Festival is an outdoor, open air event. The tent space will allow for physical distancing, which is encouraged. All attendees will be required to submit their contact details upon arrival. The YES& Festival team will follow appropriate cleaning protocols throughout the event. If you are unwell, or become unwell during the festival, you will not be able to attend. Full refunds will be provided in these cases.
DO VOLUNTEERS HAVE TO BUY A PASS TO YES& FESTIVAL?
No, the volunteer system for YES& Festival is based on contra (non-financial) exchange for a festival pass which includes campsite access and all main meals on the Saturday + Sunday.
WHERE DOES ALL THE MONEY FROM TICKET SALES GO?
YES& is not a profit driven event, therefore, 100% of your contributions go towards the running of the festival.

Your contributions are what make this festival possible.

Feel moved to further contribute to the speakers and artists? In addition to set speaker/artist fees, unique speaker/artist links will be made available in the lead up, during and after the festival that will have a third of your contribution go back to specific speakers and artists.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME?

IS ACCOMMODATION INCLUDED IN MY TICKET?
Two options for accomModation are 1) campsite access with a BYO tent or 2) Camper Van (BYO) setup occupying one of the 25 parking spaces. Please fill out the transport registration form so that we can keep track of vehicle and campsite spaces. 
ARE DAY PASSES AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE?
We invite participants into a collective experience for the entire event. YES& Festival is specifically curated as a 36 hour single stream experience and we want participants to be able to flow through the whole process. This ensures the energy and experience is not interrupted for other participants.
WHAT IF WE CAN’T CAMP?
If for health or accessibility issues you cannot camp, there are many Air Bnb’s in the local area available for booking.
CAN WE SLEEP IN A VAN OR CAMPERVAN?
Yes, we have a camper van setup occupying one of the 25 parking spaces. Please fill out the transport registration form so that we can keep track of vehicle and campsite spaces.
CAN I ATTEND YES& FESTIVAL IF I AM UNDER 18 YEARS OLD?
Only if you are accompanied by an adult/someone who is over 18. Purchase a youth pass to attend. 
IS YES& SUITABLE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN?
Yes, YES& Festival is a child-friendly event. We have a supervised kids area and we are also completely drug and alcohol free. Participants are welcome to take their children to all sessions, including lectures, workshops and discussion panels. Please note, however, that the volunteer crew do not take responsibility for unattended children, including within the supervised kids area.
